Snakes and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails
Yes, believe it or not, I am actually writing something to post to my blog!!! I think the last time I did this was when I was 28 weeks pregnant with Sam -- he is now 3 months old. But, hey, can you blame me? I've kind of had my hands full. If you had told me a few weeks ago that I would be blogging right now, I would have laughed hysterically. Anyway, I decided to start a new blog to record some of the daily activities of the two little lights of my life, Gabriel Aaron (who just turned 3 eleven days ago) and Samuel Evander (14 weeks old today). Being a mom of two is really hard work. Say that again -- it's really hard work. But there are all kinds of little moments every day that are worth remembering, and I know my mommy brain can't keep track of them. Hence the new blog!
So, some cute items of interest from today. The three of us were outside enjoying some early spring-like weather. I was raking old leaves out of the flower beds by the garage (do the 3 tulip bulbs planted there actually qualify them as flower beds?) when I uncovered a toad. At first, I thought it was dead, but them some minor movements made me realize it was not.
A mere 5 days later...
Yes, this is bound to be the nature of my blogging. Something (or someone) called me away mid-blog, and I am just now returning to finish what I was writing. The cute thing about the toad incident is that Gabe was both fascinated and scared at the same time. He began talking to "Mr. Toad". He wanted to know if he could touch it and if he could pick it up. When I assured him it was fine, he sort of circled around the toad, checking it out from all angles. Then he made the toad aware of his intentions: "I fink I might pick you up, Mr. Toad." But in the end, he was satisfied with a little bit of poking on the toad's back. I'm sure there was something else I had intended to write, but, well, it's gone now!
